J.T. Phillips, age 76, of Seymour, passed away Friday, February 3,2017 at LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville. He was a veteran of the USArmy. Preceded in death by loving wife Mary Phillips, parents, Byrd and Hazel Hatfield Phillips, brother, James; sisters Georgie and Linda. He is survived by step-children, Brenda, David, Joyce, Harold and Wayne; brother, Dennis; sisters, Thelma, Freida and Joyce; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at Berry Highland South Funeral Home on Simpson Rd, with the celebration of life to immediately follow at 8:00 p.m. with David Tipton and Dennis Phillips officiating.
