

Nickle, Frances June Poore passed away on January 12, 2025. She was born June 21, 1932, to the late Nellie Agnes Baldwin Poore and Dewitt C. Poore. June married Louis Baxter Nickle, Jr., on November 4, 1950, and resided in Knoxville where they raised their two sons. She worked in the Knox County School System for many years before working in the family business, Herbert and Nickle Furniture Company.
June and Louis were members of the Virginia Avenue Methodist church for many years and later became faithful members of Trinity United Methodist Church.
June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of almost 69 years; sisters Loretta Poore Cross and Mildred Poore; infant grandson, Austin Taylor Nickle; brothers-in-law, Joe Tedder, Eddie Lyke, Bud Sebby, and Jack Henderson and sisters-in-law, Libba Nickle Tedder, Catherine Nickle Lyke Sebby.
She is survived by her sons Dennis (Blair) and Doug (Libby); four grandchildren, Alex Nickle (Nicole), John Louis Nickle, Alison Nickle Driscoll (Devin) and Dustin Nickle (Jenna); ten great grandchildren, Maddux, Isla, Jude, Wyatt, Evy Grace, Dansby, and Adelice Nickle, Ryder, Charleston, and Brooklyn Driscoll, sister-in-law, Lillian Nickle Henderson, brother-in-law, Bill Nickle, and numerous nieces and nephews.
June has been a resident at NHC Farragut for the past two years and the family would like to thank the staff for the excellent care she received while there as well as the staff with Caris Hospice Care.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 20, 2025, from 12-1 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church with funeral service to follow at 1pm. Family and friends will proceed to New Gray Cemetery for a graveside service. Pastor Barbara Clark officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
