Kitty Gray Shuler

Kitty G. Shuler, age 87, of Knoxville, TN passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021. Kitty was born in Union City, TN to Bonner and Willie Mae Gray. She was a Member of Disciples of Christ from the age of 11. She graduated from Union City High School where she was an All-State basketball player. Kitty moved to Atlanta, GA where she worked at C&S Bank. She met Grover Shuler and they married in 1960. The couple moved to Knoxville, TN in 1960. Kitty served as Den Mother for her son’s Cub Scout troop for many years. She received a B.S. degree in Finance and served as the Secretary and Treasurer for Sentinel Fire Protection before retiring. Kitty was preceded in death by her infant twin daughters, Hope and Faith; parents, Bonner and Willie Mae Gray; brothers, Logan and Glenn Gray, and beloved dog “Bucky”. Kitty is survived by her husband of 61 years, Grover Shuler; sons, Bill Shuler (Patty) and Mike Shuler (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Shawnee Hunt (Brad) and Blakely and Logan Shuler as well as one great grandchild, Caden. The Shuler family will receive friends on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37932. The Funeral Service will immediately follow at 7:00pm. Graveside service and interment will be Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11:00am at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, TN.
