Lawrence Martin Pugh

Lawrence (Larry) Martin Pugh age 77 of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 11, 2024 surrounded by loving family. He began his ministry as a Music Director and Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church of Alcoa and pastored several churches in East Tennessee and Illinois. Larry loved the Lord and never met a stranger and loved to share his faith. He enjoyed wood working, weight lifting and Larry completed the Rocket City Marathon in Huntsville, AL. He also loved music and enjoyed playing the trumpet. Larry was preceded in death by parents, David and Margaret Pugh; brothers, David Jr, Tom, Walt, Stewart, Danny, Tim, Jim and Earl Pugh. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly (Caudell) Pugh; sons, Roger (Sheri) Pugh and Josh (Karen) Pugh; daughter, Jennifer (Keith) Gilley; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine (Larry Wayne) Ellison; brother, Ed (Rosie) Pugh; numerous other family and special friends that are too numerous to number. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 12-2 p.m. at Prospect Baptist Church in Walland. Sevice will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jason Sweeton, Dr. Roger Pugh and Dr. Mike Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
