L.B was a long time service station owner on Kingston Pike. He had a passion for UT sports and worked as an usher for the University of Tennessee. L.B never met a stranger. He left a lasting impression on everyone he came in contact with. L.B will be remembered for his love of people, commitment to his work and one of a kind personality. When he wasn't at work, cheering on the Vols, or at his best friend's, Wright's cafeteria, he could be found at Long's Drugstore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyman Beecher Richardson and Matilda Richardson, his wife Betty Carlene Richardson and son Terry Van Richardson.
Survivors include son, Randy Richardson; wife, Janis Brickey and grandson, Joey Richardson of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter, Tammie Wetherholt; husband, Steve Wetherholt and granddaughter Jenna Wetherholt of Franklin, TN. He leaves behind 100's of friends, nieces and nephews who called him Bugs.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, July 6 from 4-7pm at Berry Highland Memorial on Kingston Pike. Services will be on Saturday, July 7 at 11:00am followed by a Graveside Service and reception to follow. The family would like to thank all the friends that loved and took care of him over the years. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to his dear friend Gus Manning's Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 47, Knoxville, Tennessee 37901.
L.B leaves a legacy and is going to be greatly missed but fondly remembered.
