My father was the Innkeeper at Holiday Inn West in the early 1970's. I think I was a classmate of David's at Pond Gap Elementary School when my father was Innkeeper and Lena Mallory was secretary. My father was Frank Human and my name was Sue Human when I was David's classmate. My sympathy to Lena's family. I remember her well.

To the family, we are so sorry to hear of Mrs. Mallory's passing. Sending prayers for comfort, peace and strength as the days go forward without her. We have been "across the street" neighbors for 39 years and have loved seeing her over the years out in the yard tending to her flowers. Rest in Peace, sweet lady.

I grew up running around the Mallory home like it was my own. I spent many weekends, and snowed-in days off of school playing and having a ball blending into the Mallory family - like they were my own - because they are. Lena was the gracious and loving center of the Mallory universe (even for an honorary Mallory). I will miss her so much.

We will always remember the fun time we had tailgating at the UT football game.

Our sincere condolences to the entire family.

May her memory be a blessing to all
