Linda Bell (Hickman) Travis

Linda Bell (Hickman) Travis, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2025. She was born in Sevier County, Tennessee, and graduated from Carter High School. Linda earned a degree in finance from the University of Tennessee and a degree in accounting from Tennessee Wesleyan. She retired from Bechtel Jacobs Company in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, after a dedicated career. Linda was also a devoted member of the United Methodist faith.

Linda enjoyed traveling and had a special love for Broadway plays. She also found great joy in the companionship of her many beloved dogs, Maggie, Foxy, Murphy, Cricket, Mister Pebbles and Bo. We find comfort in imagining her reunited with her faithful friends, who surely had been waiting anxiously to welcome her home.

She is survived by her husband, Ron; her son, John; her sisters, Barbara Elkins, Mary Flanders and Rebecca Cox; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ada Blanche (née Hillard) and Olif Frederick Hickman; her brothers, Eugene, Thomas, Billy and Olif Hickman; and her sisters, Emma Bailey and Brenda McSpadden.

A funeral service to honor Linda Bell Travis's life will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, Tennessee 37932, followed by a graveside service at 3:00 PM.
