

LlOYD CHARLES DAUGHERTY, JR. age 56 of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on October 3, 2014 at Vanderbilt after an extended illness. He is preceded in death by father, Lloyd Daugherty, Sr.; grandparents, Julian and Anna Daugherty of Knoxville and Ralph and Dixie Schubert of Oliver Springs. At age 16 he accepted his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Survived by his devoted and caring mother, Gertrude Daugherty; aunt, Beatrice Worthington; uncles and aunts, Ray and Nancy Daugherty, Paul and Alicia Schubert, Wilma Melton of Tullahoma, aunt Betty Daugherty and a host of special cousins, Blake Wilson, a special young man in Lloyd’s life; Lloyd’s childhood best friend, Skip Clay: he also leaves behind a personal and special friend, Keitha Kelley. He was Chairman of the Tennessee Conservative Union, Host of Dixie Angler and Radio talk Show the Voice. He never passed up anyone who needed help. “My father told me that when people walk by and if they can say you’re a Christian Southern Gentleman then you ‘ve run your race properly. I hope most people can say that about me.” The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday at Trinity Baptist Church7604 Blacks Ferry Rd, Knoxville, TN 37931 with the service to follow at 8 pm.
