Lois Katherine Colinger

Lois Katherine Levy Colinger, age 89, departed this life on November 24, 2015 in Jackson, Tennessee after a brief illness. She was born on November 1, 1926 to parents, Fred B. and Ruth Wilson Levy and lived all of her life in Knoxville. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was loved by many including her church family at Island Home Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her spouse, J.W. Colinger, Sr.; only son, Dr. J.W. Colinger, Jr.; sister, Betty Ford; and granddaughter, Kelsey Hannah Dixon. Lois is survived by her daughters, Janet Jack of Lenoir City Tennessee; Kathy Simmons of Jackson, Tennessee; Sharon Colinger of Knoxville, Tennessee; sons-in-law, Alan Jack and Mark Simmons; and daughter-in-law, Judy Colinger. Lois also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and special friends, Brenda and David Burchett. Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 29th from 1:30 until 3:00 PM in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM, Rev. Jason Littlejohn and Rev. L.P. Ford, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway.
