

Read, Lucas Tate, age 21, of South Knoxville, passed away as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on December 10, 2015. Lucas was proud to be born and raised in South Knoxville and was a member of the South Doyle class of 2013. Lucas was a zipline tour guide at CLIMB Works in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and also was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Lucas loved his family dearly. He is survived by his parents, Randy and Debbe Read and his brothers and sisters and their families; Michelle (Wally) Strickland,”Kelsea” Damaris (Monk) Neiland, Jarrad (Kinslee) Read, Ryan (Kayla) Read, Dalton Read (Hannah Armes) and Makenzie Read; nephews and niece, Zeke Strickland, Braelyn and Maxton Read, Joah and Beckham Read, who were the lights of his life. Lucas had a big heart that overflowed with love for his many close friends. His family is so grateful for the outpouring of love and the stories that his friends are sharing about him. His unique, joyful spirit is going to be missed. The family will receive friends 4:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2500 Maryville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920 with a memorial service celebrating the life of Lucas at 7:00 PM. Reverend Benji Fowler will be officiating the service.
