Lucille King Irwin peacefully went home to be with her Jesus Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the young age of 97. She was the most loving, understanding, and kindest person this world has ever had the privilege to know. Words cannot describe how blessed we have all been to have her as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed, but we know she is now healed completely, and in the presence of our Lord, running down the streets of glory in heaven, and reunited with those loved ones who went on before her. We all love you and will miss you deeply. Until we meet again. Proverbs 31:10 "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies"
Lucille was a graduate of Young High School in Knoxville and worked at Standard Knitting Mill until her first marriage. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. She enjoyed dining out, facebooking, and playing "words with friends" online. She loved working crossword puzzles and playing board games. She could be quite competitive! When she was still able, Lucille enjoyed traveling and went on several cruises. She also attended Community Bible Church for several years where she sang in the choir and was involved in a ministry that visited seniors that were unable to attend church.
Lucille was preceded in death by parents Joel E. and Tina King, brother Carl King, sister Blanch King Storm, first husband James R. Flynn, second husband R.C. Irwin Jr., step daughter Marylou Kennedy, and stepson Richard Irwin. II Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
A visitation for Lucille will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, Tennessee 37932, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM with Rev.
