Lynn Pressley McGinnis, a beloved resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on January 10, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on January 30, 1942, in Knoxville, he was the cherished son of Paul L. and Bertha B. McGinnis.
Lynn dedicated 37 years of his professional life to The University of Tennessee, working in the Facilities Service Department. He retired on June 30, 2003. Known for his dedication and love for his work, he had the privilege of working alongside Pat Head Summit.
A man of many interests, Lynn enjoyed fishing and was an avid supporter of UT football, embracing all things related to the University of Tennessee. He also found joy in crafts and woodworking.
His faith was an integral part of his life. As a member of First Baptist Concord, Lynn had a strong devotion to Jesus and was actively involved in Sunshine Ministries. He was a wonderful mentor to younger students in the Knoxville Adult Education Classes, imparting wisdom and guidance.
Lynn is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bertha McGinnis; aunt and uncle, Hillard and Carrie Carr. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, sister, Judy Henley; special friends, David (Katie), Louis, Jeannie Geasland, Missy (Mike) Fierley; special friends, cousins and his church family.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. The graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery at 1 p.m.
