Marie Humphrey

Bertha Marie Carney Cardwell Humphrey born June 15, 1926, passed away peacefully at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center March 5, 2016 at 10:00AM. She was a member of New Beverly Baptist Church. Preceded in death by Father Ed Johnson, Mother Minnie Johnson, Steelman; her late husbands John Henry Carney, James Cardwell and Louis Humphrey. She leaves behind the following to cherish her memory; loving Sister Betty Deck and sister in law Polly Cardwell, Special Grandson Logan Cardwell children; John Carney Jr. wife Diane, George Paul Carney wife Bonnie, Floyd Carney wife Faye, Jim Cardwell wife Peggy and Kris Cardwell and wife Tina. Marie was blessed with 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. How lucky you were if you knew this woman. A loving mother of 6 children. A loving caring wife who cared for 2 husbands to their passing. A Mother that always provided for her children even when she was without. A woman that was so rich in most important things in life even though she was never rich in money. A woman that would do for anybody else before she would do for herself. Someone that always worked hard through life just to keep her head above water. Someone that no matter how bad the situation or how bad the outlook, always seemed to make it all better. A woman that we knew would be ready for that great temple up there even when nobody else would be. She was always ready to take on anything. The family will receive friends Tuesday March 8, 2016 from 5pm-7pm at Weaver Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7:00PM.
