Marilyn was born August 5, 1938 in Lorain, Ohio. She graduated from Lorain High School Class of 1956-B. She met her sweetheart, John Taylor, while at Irving Junior High School, where they soon realized they wanted to be together forever. Marilyn and John raised four children together, and moved their family to Concord, TN in 1976. Their next move to Farragut in 1977 established the “Taylor Compound” making it possible for them to raise horses, cows, many cats and dogs, and for Marilyn to grow a large vegetable garden. Marilyn was fiercely passionate about her garden, and loved sharing its bounty. Marilyn was gentle, kind hearted, and had a beautiful soul; she saw only the good in people. It’s impossible to express just how great her ability was to make all feel like they were family. She was known simply as “Grandma” by countless friends. Many seeking respite over the years felt the warmth of her love. Marilyn was protective of all creatures, helping to save any she found to be in peril.
Marilyn is survived by her children Lynn (Joseph) Morgan, James (Martha) Taylor, Robin (Doug Mullins) Taylor, and John (Faith) Taylor; grandchildren Emily (Matthew) Russell, James (Dorothy Blue) Morgan, James (Jessica Budreau) Taylor Jr., Nicole (Thomas Smith) Taylor, Heather (Derek) Mumphrey, Ryan (Calista) Bolash, Charlotte Taylor, and Isabelle Taylor; great grandchildren Emma, Spencer, Eli, Samuel, Lucas, Sadie, Selah, and Nolan; sisters Sue (Jim) Rufo, and Connie (Jim Wasowski) Friess; and many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Taylor; parents, James Whitcomb Romoser and Frances Elnor (Tischer) Romoser; and sister Nancy (Richard) Sly.
