Marion Lee Crowson, born August 4, 1930, passed peacefully into Heaven early Tuesday morning, March 20, 2018. Marion was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a terrific mother-in-law. She was especially devoted to her special needs son Danny, whom she nurtured together with Jim for 60+ years. She was a talented musician playing the oboe with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra for several years, and also played the piano and violin since childhood. She later learned to play the accordion. Marion graduated from Central High School and the University of Tennessee Knoxville. She began her 20+ years teaching career in Oak Ridge and completed the majority of her tenure at New Hopewell Elementary School in Knoxville. During retirement, she spent several years as a volunteer at UT Hospital where her favorite duty was delivering flowers. Her sharp sense of humor, talent in the kitchen and the love she had for her family and friends will be greatly missed. Marion was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Gladys Clark. She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 65 years James A. (Jim) Crowson; son Daniel Crowson; daughter and son-in-law Lois and Blake Thatcher; sister Evelyn Lewis; brother Tommy Clark (Jean); grandchildren: Jimmy Thatcher (Rana), Carrie Crouch (Audric), and Will Thatcher; great-grandchild Lucy Caroline Crouch; and many nieces and nephews.
