Mark Alan Fersner, age 50, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at his home in Powell, Tennessee, surrounded by his loving family. Mark fought a courageous fight with colon cancer and became a strong advocate in encouraging others to get their colons checked sooner than later with hopes of saving lives.
He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. He was part owner of Fersner Plumbing Company.
Mark leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Angie; darling daughter, Bailey; Dad and Step-mom, Kenneth Walker “Sonny” Fersner and Gail Fersner; Brothers and Sisters: Harry Fersner, Darryl and Jill Fersner, Cheryl and Kenny Thomas, Marla and Shawn Hines; Mother-in-law and husband, Mary Ann and Wayne Watson; Father-in-law and wife, Joey and Carolyn Roop; Grandmother-in-law, Bea Monger; Brother-in-law and wife, Justin and Tiffani Roop; Grandmother, Mabel Mullins; Uncle, Harry “Fuzz” Fersner, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Mom and Step-dad, Billie Jean and Carl Wayne Branch; Grandparents, Pearl Fersner, Lonette and Ralph McMahan, Frank Ray Mullins.
Arrangements: Family will receive friends Thursday 5-8 pm at Crossroads Christ Fellowship Church with service to follow at 8 pm. Rev. Wayne Watson and Rev. B.D. Fersner officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Friday at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for an 11 am interment.
In lieu of flowers an education fund has been set up for his daughter Bailey at First Volunteer Bank, 2367 Callahan Drive, Knoxville, TN 37921.
