Martha Joyce Cureton

She was born and raised in the Boyd's Creek community of Sevier County. Joyce's life as a housewife centered around her home and family. She was an especially good mother who readily gave of her time.

Joyce was greeted at the gates of Eternity by her husband of 58 years, Roger Franklin Cureton; parents, Charles Edmund and Wanda Cleo Newman Hodges of Boyd's Creek and close sister, Frances Hodges.

Joyce leaves behind daughters, Tammy Cureton and Laurie Grooms; granddaughter, Britney Grooms, all of Knoxville; several nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to special friend and caregiver, Donna Holbrook of Knoxville.

Family and friends will gather to honor the life of Joyce at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, with a receiving of friends on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm with a funeral service to follow at 6:30 pm officiated by Rev. Richard Richter. Family and friends will meet Friday, August 2, 2024 at Berry Highland South Cemetery, 9010 West Simpson Road, Knoxville for a 1:00 pm Interment Service.
