Matha Kay “Marti” Mills passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Diversicare of Oak Ridge after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. She spent her life in various retail leadership positions using her talent for conversation as well as her personality to be successful. Marti had a wicked sense of humor and never took anything too seriously. She frequently donned her “beer goggles” when discussing possible outcomes and difficulties. A raving and lifelong fan of UT Football, it was rare to see her without her favorite colors, Orange & White!
She is preceded in death by her parents, father John William “Jack” Mills, mother Patricia Calfee Mills and sister Jackie Mills Huch.
Marti is survived by sister Kim Mills, brother in law Greg Huch, nieces Katie Huch Valentini & husband Bob and family; Emily Huch; Abbie Huch & wife Holly Irwin and nephew Patrick Huch & wife Michelle and family along with special friends Terri Hawkins and David & Karen Lovett. A heartfelt thank you also to Caris Hospice staff who cared for Marti in her final days. You are all appreciated so much.
Receiving of friends will be held on Sunday August 2, 2026 at 2:00pm at Berry Highland West Knoxville, TN followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3:00pm.
