Mary Florence (Acuff) Davis, age 95, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022. Mary was born May 21, 1927. She was a member of Meadow View Baptist Church. Mary retired from the Knox County School System. Upon her retirement, the mayor proclaimed that day as Mary Davis Day and presented her with a framed commemorative. Prior to that, she worked with her husband, the love of her life, at Travis Meat and Seafood Company. Mary was known for her quick wit and adventurous spirit - she was always up for a road trip with the family, especially to the Outer Banks. She was the life of the party and could always make you laugh. She loved baseball and her Atlanta Braves and followed them faithfully.
Preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Frank Davis, Jr.; parents, Robert Aulton Acuff and Lucy Houser Acuff (Knoxville); brother, Clifford Acuff (North Carolina); and sisters, Mildred (Acuff) Byrd (Knoxville) and Vivian (Acuff) McClain (Knoxville).
She leaves behind her children, Valerie Ridinger, husband Garry (Knoxville), Beverly Spear, husband Alan (Knoxville), Kelly Davis (Knoxville), Jami Massey (Knoxville); grandchildren: Jonathan Davis, Hayley Spear (Nick Needle), Savannah Ridinger, Alex Wyckoff (Addie), and Madison Todd; great-grandchildren: Attie Todd and Cole Davis; siblings: Wilma (Acuff) Lawrence (Knoxville), and Charlotte (Acuff) Frye (Knoxville); as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
