Mary F. Edmonds

Mary Frances Chamberlain Edmonds passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, boundless love, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Mary loved the Lord with all her heart and lived her faith each day. She was a longtime member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church, where she faithfully worshiped and was an active member of the Women of Grace. Her trust in God was evident in the words she so often shared with others: "Give your cares to Jesus." Those simple yet powerful words reflected the peace she found in her faith and the encouragement she offered to everyone around her.

More than anything, Mary treasured her family. She loved being a mother and took immense joy in being "Mamaw." Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She delighted in hosting holiday meals, bringing family together around her table, and creating traditions that will be treasured for generations. Christmas held a special place in her heart, and through her thoughtfulness, generosity, and joyful spirit, she made the season truly magical for her family.

Mary retired from the University of Tennessee Payroll Department after many years of dedicated service. In retirement, she embraced life with enthusiasm. She loved traveling, celebrating every holiday, and spending time with her dear friends, especially on their weekly karaoke outings that brought her so much laughter and happiness.

Those who knew Mary often remarked that simply being within ten feet of her made you feel loved. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Her kindness, generous heart, and joyful spirit touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Mary's life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, hospitality, and joy. While her family and friends grieve her passing, they rejoice in knowing she is in the presence of the Savior she loved so deeply.

She will be dearly missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Edmonds; parents, John and Minnie Chamberlain; brothers: Bill, Don, Gary, Johnny, Ronnie and Mac Chamberlain and son-in-law, Randy May.

Mary is survived by her children: Mike Edmonds (Monika), Terri May, David Edmonds (Karen), Chris Edmonds (Lisa); grandchildren; great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Davis

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 6, 2026, in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920, between the hours of 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a celebration of life service to begin at 7:00 PM officiated by Rev. Don Wilson. Family and friends will meet Friday, August 7, 2026 at

Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920 for a 10:00 AM Interment.
