From Daughter Peggy Breeden__For my loving mother whom I will always love and admire I will greatly miss her . She was the greatest woman of her generation always willing to sacrifice for us children and ready always to help her friends and neighbors. So often She would go without things she needed to give us what we needed as children growing up.She stayed up late and worked hard making sure we were all taken care of.Church was her greatest joy and she is now with Jesus in her forever home resting there waiting for us .mom I love and will aways miss you peg

There are many good things I remember about Mary, and I will  share just a few.  I was lucky enough to work with her for many years. And I knew her as a patient after heart surgery. Nothing could keep her down. She was described as a little whirlwind at work and had more energy than most of her younger peers. She would work through her break if we needed to prepare a room for a new patient.  And after her first heart surgery, she insisted on getting out of bed that first afternoon.  She said she had to get better to get home to her family.  She was an excellent worker but the thing I remember most about Mary was how much she loved her family.

When Momma retired at age 85 She and I would go visit her brothers in Georgia.We took a few trips to the Beach in Florida and south Carolina.She loved just getting out and go I g it did not matter where.Just getting out of the house.I loved to bring her to my house.She would say I didn't think you lived this far away.She would say we need to get out and pick some cotton and go plow them Ole Mules.As she got much older she would occasionally ask me where Bill went our daddy.She married him in 1944 and she had 10 children with him.There was never anyone else for her.I would kid her I am going to get you a man she would say get one for yourself I don.t need one.or I would say Momma what do you think they are saying .She would say hard telling but they can say what they want about me and give someone else a break.I know no one could ever find anything bad to say about her.Everyone that met her loved her.She loved her family.I loved to sleep with her.She would ask where are we going to sleep and you are going to sleep with me then she would be so happy.I loved snuggling with her and kissing her.Telling her I loved her and she would say I love you too Or I love you All too.She did not say goodbye she would say I'll see you.

Our Mother was probably One of the sweetest kindest loving ladys you could ever meet.She gave directly from her heart.She wanted all her children and anyone she touched to know and love Jesus.Momma and daddy would walk us to church .We were always involved in the Christmas plays.They never drove or had a car so we walked unless you took a bus and Momma loved to walk.She could out walk anyone.she would take a bus to work and walk to the busline in all kinds of weather about a mile away.we took the bus if we had to go see a doctor.We walked to the store.we walked to school.And you better be where you were suppose to be .she would sacrifice for us to do little things we could do if a friend took us.I never realized what 50cents could mean growing up.we would go to Gay street,Or Market square to buy school clothes.She would stop at the Orange Julius and get us a drink.She always wanted a big kitchen .She loved to cook for us.She made the most perfect biscuits.I can not come close to her dumplings.We would go BlackBerry picking.She would can them as well as peaches.,and make BlackBerry dumplings.

We are sorry that we could not see you in person today. We are so glad to have had the opportunity to meet her when she attended our Sunday School Class with you. She was a sweet little lady. Her smile was beautiful.  We extend our sincere sympathy to you during your time of loss.
