Mary Geneva Henry

It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Mary Geneva Henry, a centenarian of remarkable spirit and warmth on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in Knoxville, TN, the city where she was born on March 17, 1923.

Geneva dedicated many years of Service to Palm Beach Mills in Knoxville, TN. Her devotion was known by many in her community as a beloved figure known for uplifting others through singing. Geneva had a special affinity for performing songs written by her sister Stella and bringing joy and light to all who had the pleasure of listening. Her creative spirit also shone through for her talent in crafting, especially her hanging baskets. A hobby she developed that added beauty to many homes and hearts.

Geneva navigated life always with a positive attitude with a rare gift of patience and care, traits endeared her to all who knew her. She faced the world with a heart full of grace and hands ready to help, leaving an indelible mark on anyone who was lucky enough to cross her path.

Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Henry; daughter, Pamela Solomon; son, John Henry; son in-law, Charlie Moore; and granddaughter, Tracy Farley.

Her legacy will be cherished and carried forward by those she left behind. Her memory will be preserved by her daughter, Virginia Moore; daughter in-law, Sherri Henry; grandchildren, Connie Solomon; Timmy Solomon (Christy); Melissa Jones (Les); Lisa McCarthy (Will); Christy Henry (David); Whitney Henry Patton; Amanda Henry Blevins (John); special friend, Becky Davis, 15 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and friends from NHC nursing home.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers and staff at NHC, Emerald Ave.

A visitation for Mary Geneva will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 10am with a funeral service to follow at 12pm at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919, and Geneva will be laid to rest at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery at 1pm following services.
