For over 25 years, Mary Lou embraced her role as a homemaker with genuine passion, finding deep fulfillment in caring for her loved ones. She consistently placed the needs of others above her own throughout her life. This selfless nature defined who she was at her core.
Following her years as a homemaker, Mary Lou continued her dedication to service through part-time work at Sam's Club and meaningful volunteer work at the O'Conner Center. She was a faithful, longtime member of Macedonia Methodist Church, where her commitment to her faith and community remained steadfast.
Mary Lou's life was enriched by simple yet profound pleasures. She found joy in cooking comfort food for her family, tending to her beloved garden, reading a good book, and quietly observing the birds that visited her yard. Remarkably, even at 94, Mary Lou's mind remained "as sharp as a tack." She was well-known as the matriarch of her family.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Floyd Edward Kimball, Jr.; and son, Floyd “Ed” Kimball III.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and John Alvanos; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Kelly Kimball; 8 grandchildren: Christina, Simone, Michelle, Brent, Julie, Sydney, Cole and Bailey; and great grandchildren: Ryleigh, Luke, Everett, Brady, River, Kendrick, Tate, Kendall, and Mason; and special cousin, Barbara Blankenship.
Family and friends will meet at 9:30 AM at McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home on Saturday, July 5, 2025 for a prayer service. We will proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00 AM graveside service, Lance Gammon officiating.
