Mary Frances Andrews Meek, 91, born in Nashville, TN, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 in Knoxville, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband Bathurst Lee Meek, Jr. and parents, Garnet S. and Mary Frances King Andrews of Nashville, TN. Survivors include nephews Olden B. (Diana O.) Meek, Jr. of AL, Richard H. (Lydia W.) Meek of GA, and Douglas L. (Debi) Meek of FL; and brother-in-law Franklin H. Meek of Knoxville.
Mary taught at Sequoia Elementary (1949-1963) and West Hills Elementary (1965-1979). She was a graduate of Peabody Demonstration School (1944) and George Peabody College for Teachers (B.S. 1948) in Nashville and UT Knoxville (M.A. 1949). In addition to teacher organizations, she was a member of the DAR and the Suburban Hills Community Club. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension.
Graveside services will be held at the Mausoleum Chapel of Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery Saturday, February 17, 2017 at 11am with Richard H. Meek officiating. Friends may leave their thoughts and memories at www.highlandmemorialknoxville.com
