Mary Lou Mikels, 82 of Knoxville, went to be with her Jesus on Sun. Feb. 6, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. A beloved wife of David Mikels for 64 years, and a loving mother of 4 children. She was a devoted and active member of Galilee Baptist Church for 50 years and served as the organist during that time. She was a loved and cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mary Lou is is survived by her husband, David; children: Carol (Mark) Potter, Robin Mikels Scott (Clarance), Timothy (Carol) Mikels and Eric Mikels. Grandchildren: Payton Potter, Ben Scott, Autumn (Zach) Roseburgh, David Scott, Haley (Tyler) Wilson, Grace Mikels, Sara (Ezekiel) Mikels-Balogun and Matthew Mikels. Great grandchildren: Colt, Kimber and Conner and her sister: Evelyn (Dennis) O' Toole.
Her family will receive friends, on Tues. Feb. 15, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Galilee Baptist Church, 8622 Pickens Gap Rd, Knoxville. Celebration of life services will follow at 6:00 PM with Pastor Dwight Singleton officiating. Graveside services will be 12:30 PM, Wed. Feb. 16, 2022 at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
