

Lethco, Mel A., age 80, of South Knoxville went to be with our Lord on Saturday March 2, 2013. He spent his life working in the marble and tile industry at Candora Marble Company for 34 years in Knoxville and 20 years at Superior Tile in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mel was a Corporal in the 82nd Airborne and a life time member of Vestal Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers Henry (Betty) and Andy Lethco, great nephew, Scott Smith, and great-grandson, Bryson Cardwell. Mel is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lorene Ball Lethco; daughter Patty Webster; son, Danny Lethco (Joan); niece, Judy McNeely (David) and her son Darrin Smith (Cindy); nephew, Dr. Gary Lethco (Terry) and their sons, Adam and David; granddaughters, Robin Horsley and Misty Cardwell (Marc) of Knoxville; Melissa, Ashley, and Macy Lethco of Louisville, Kentucky; Haley Rose (Brian) and Hillary Chastain (Jason) of Murphy, North Carolina; great grandchildren, Brylea, Cooper, and Devyn; nieces: Angie Waters (Bill) of Birmingham, Alabama, Kathy Doolittle (Wesley) of North Augusta, South Carolina; nephew, Keith Lethco (Bonnie); sister-in-law, Polly Lethco of Greenwood, South Carolina; and brother-in-law, Ralph (Earnestine) Ball. The family will receive friends in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM.
