JONES, MELBA BOAZ - age 88 of Knoxville passed away October 22, 2010 at Mercy Residential Hospice. Before marriage she worked for the telephone company. Melba was a full time devoted wife and mother and during her younger day was active in collecting for March of Dimes and the Cancer Society. Preceded in death by parents Hezekiah and Bessie Owen Boaz, daughter Carolyn Ann Jones, sister Frances Boaz. Survived by husband Burke Vernon Jones, special niece Joan Overby, special friend Nancye Kinley. Honorary pallbearers, Tom Webber, Sam Smith, Jim Price, and Randy Singleton. Family and friends will meet Tuesday 10:45 am at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Powell for an 11:00 am graveside service.
