He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing guitar and cooking for his children.
Preceded in death by mother, Sue Burchett; grandmother, Anna Preston; uncle, Bobby Preston and longtime friend, Robert Grim.
He is survived by daughter, Maggie Howard; son, Nathaniel Preston; daughter, Anna Preston; grandson, Kingston Howard; father, Bill (Betty) Preston; brothers, Jason and Jon Preston; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Paintsville, KY at a later date. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920 .
