Nancy June Lyle Burger

Nancy June Lyle Burger, age 87, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Nancy was a 1954 graduate of Young High School, Knoxville, TN. She was a long-standing member of Meadow View Baptist Church where she faithfully attended. She loved church and was a follower of Christ. She was born and raised in Knoxville, TN where she remained throughout her life. She enjoyed cookouts, camping, picnics with family and Cades Cove visits in the Great Smoky Mountains. She was an avid fan of UT football and she so loved her VOLS. She was an avid reader and loved a good story, or biography. She was a chairside dental assistant for both Drs. Joe Bass and Gibbs M. Prevost. She also worked as a receiving clerk for Kmart where she eventually retired.

Nancy was preceded in passing by her loving husband of 51 years, William "Bill" Paul Burger; parents, Virgil Leon Lyle and Edith Dayberry Lyle; brother, Douglas Leon Lyle.

Nancy leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving children, Vicki Darlene Burger Wilson, David Brian Burger, and (Jeff Shelton), Sherry Nannette Burger Reed, and Shannon Nicole Burger (Anthony) Ward; grandchildren, Whitney Nicole Wilson (Adam) Vineyard, Kimberly Brooke Ricker (Nathan) Hand, and Jace Ward; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Vineyard, Addison Vineyard, Brooklyn Hand, Scotland James "S.J." Hand, Easton Hand, and Jimmy Hand; sister, Janice Marie Lyle (Ashley Sommers) Arrowood III, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Nancy lived a long and beautifully blessed life, and she will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Family and friends with gather to honor the legacy of Nancy on July 13, 2024 at 11:00am with a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920.
