Nellie Mae Seymour
February 10, 1935 – January 21, 2023

Nellie Mae Seymour, age 87, of Knoxville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Saturday, January 21, 2023 after an extensive battle with heart and lung disease. Nellie Mae Seymour was born in Knoxville, TN February 10, 1935 to the late Gladys and Charles Bishop. Nell grew up in Knoxville and worked at several establishments and then she met her husband, Lonnie Seymour at Tom's Potato Chips. After their wedding Nell and Lonnie resided in Clinton and started their family. After Lonnie's early death in 1971 Nell moved back to Knoxville to raise their two sons. Nell worked 27 years at RobertShaw where she retired. She was a strong spirited woman who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking and watching old westerns. Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Seymour; sisters, Billie and Mary Bishop; brother, Charles Bishop. She is survived by sons, Mark (Sharon) Seymour, Todd (Sondra) Seymour; sister, June Henry; 6 grandchildren, Nathan (Christina) Seymour, Tamara Seymour, Hannah Seymour, McKenna Seymour, Faith (Dalton) Sexton and Emma DeVaney; 4 great-grandchildren, Jadon Sands, Journey Seymour, Jaydon Simerly and Jenson Simerly; several nieces and nephews and family members. Special friends, Connie and Jack Butcher, Mary Rae Smith, Louise Henry, Ann Owens, Kim O'dell, Alan McClancy, Carl and Audrey Johnson. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Select Speciality Hospital at Fort Sanders. Family and friends will meet Thursday January 26, 2023 at New Gray Cemetery for a 11:00 a.m. graveside service. Rev. Eddie Beeler officiating. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com
