Hood, Orville Glen, age 78 of Knoxville, TN, passed away at home with his family by his side. Orville was a member of Stock Creek Baptist Church, a long-time employee of Dempster Brothers, a well-known wizard of small engine repairs, and a former school bus contractor. He enjoyed spending time with his breakfast buddies at G&D Market and Deli, where they worked on solving the world’s problems.
Orville was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Garneta Julian Hood and brother Donnie Hood. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Patsy Collier Hood; sons Kerry Hood; Mike (Sarah) Hood; Keith Hood and Derin (Danielle) Hood; grandchildren Laura and Joseph Hood, Bethany (John) Steel, Amanda Hood, Chloe Hood; great grandchildren Joy and Samuel Steel; Sisters Jo Anne (Charlie) Ballard and Pauline (Ronnie) McMurray, several nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 19, 2016 at Stock Creek Baptist Church from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 20 at noon, also at Stock Creek Baptist church, officiated by Rev. Scott Hood and Pastor Buddy Johnson and nephew, Chris Hood. The family will go in procession following the service to Berry Highland South for the interment.
