Oscar was a faithful member of Meridian Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, blacksmithing, and spending time in God's beautiful outdoors. A man of many talents, Oscar even published his own cookbook! Above all, he treasured the time spent with his beloved family and the many wonderful memories they shared.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Benjamin, and Sarah Ola Bryson; brothers, Clarence Benjamin Bryson II, William Vincent Bryson; sister, Mary Gail Logan.
Oscar leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Sylvia Jean Bryson; loving daughters, Camette (Jimmy) Hail, Robin (David) Bandy; sister, Martha B. (Bruce) Stone; granddaughter, Lorna Bandy, who was the light of his life. He also leaves behind several special nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Oscar will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will gather to honor the life and legacy of Oscar at Meridian Baptist Church, 6513 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, with a visitation from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, with funeral service to follow. Family and friends with meet for a committal service at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 2:00pm, Pastor Michael Martin will officiate the services.
