Parivash was married to our late father, Dr. Akbar Hamed, and together they raised three daughters: Sholeh, Nazzy, and Maryam. She was a loving and devoted mother, full of life, ambition, and strength. She always taught us to be resilient and to strive for excellence in everything we do.
Parivash pursued her undergraduate studies in Tabriz, where she majored in French literature. Later, she continued her education at Tehran University, earning her graduate degree in French literature. She taught French literature at Tehran University and served as the head of the French Department at the College of Foreign Languages in Tehran. In the early 1980s, she also taught French at Saint John Seminary in Boston.
In addition to her academic achievements, Parivash had political ambitions. In 1976, she ran for the House of Representatives in Tehran. She was also one of the founders of a new political party in Iran shortly before the Islamic Revolution.
Mom loved art. In her youth, she created beautiful paintings and exquisite needlepoint pieces. She was an avid seamstress and also skilled at knitting. Crystal will always remember her fondly for teaching her how to knit.
