Patricia "Pat" Cox

Patricia "Pat" Cox, age 76, Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at home. She is a member of Kim Watt Baptist Church, where she was the choir director and women's sunday school teacher. With her Faith and trust in Jesus and with many prayers, she lived many wonderful years having been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. Her life was a living testimony to all who knew her or had the awesome pleasure of meeting her. She always had a Christian song in her heart or a Bible verse to share. She was not ashamed to find out where you stand with the Lord. She was a beautician, school cafeteria worker, homemaker and the best wife, Mom, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother a family could ever ask for.

She is preceded in death by her mom, Rozella Richey; dad, JB Richey; sister, Elizabeth Richey Dennis; and daughter-in-law, Dana Cox.

Pat is survived by her husband of almost 58 years, John R. Cox, Sr.; children, Gail (Johnny) Nipper, Crystal (John) Keys, John Cox, Jr., Carrie (Jacob) Reed; grandchildren, Amber (Martin) Williams, John Nipper, Jr., Carson, Conner and Ava Reed; great-grandchildren, Zaxon, Lillyonna and Kaison Williams; siblings, Earl (Julie) Richey and Brenda Chandler; special friends, Joyce Fritts and Judy Scarbrough; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wahid Hanna and staff as well as Smoky Mountain Hospice West and staff for all the wonderful care you gave to Pat.

A visitation for Pat will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kim Watt Baptist Church, 1904 Kim Watt Dr, Knoxville, TN 37909. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM officiated by Pastor Paul Carter and Reverend Harold Hayes. A graveside service will occur Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 3:00 PM in Berry Highland West Cemetery, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37932.
