Patricia "Pat" Ann Prough

Pat will be remembered for her ginger hair, her infectious laugh, and her love of all things family.

Pat is survived by husband, Everett LeRoy Prough, daughter, Karen "Kork" Prough Doolin; son-in-law, Sam (Lydia) Richardson; grandsons, Adam Richardson, Curtis (Kassandra) Richardson; granddaughter, Teri Doolin (Anthony) Maxwell, and the one and only great-grandchild, Kinsley Jean Richardson; sister, Norma Thomas of Schell City, Missouri; niece Carolyn Caywood of Lawrence, Kansas, and numerous other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Charles Goble; sisters, Mildred Hodge, Gracie Chitty; son, Kenneth Ray Prough; daughter, Kathy Jean Prough Richardson, and infant daughter Carol Ann Prough.

Pat was a life-long member of the Eastern Star. Member of Schell City Christian church until moving to Tennessee in 2020. And then member of Gap Creek Christian Church until her death. She was an avid fan of the Kansas Jayhawks, with the opportunity to experience a live game at Allen Field House. She was a Tennessee Vols fan after moving here, unless it was KU vs. UT, then all bets were off. Speaking of which, she loved to bet on games. However, her max bet was a quarter.

Pat loved every holiday and decorated the entire house for each one. Her favorite was fall with Thanksgiving always being special due to spending it with family. Pat had a wonderful sense of mischief. Always dressing up on Halloween. She was game for any activity; if it was legal. Looking through old photographs of her in a costume of some type, you can see the slight twinkle in her eye and grin on her lips.

She loved music and dancing. Pat and sister, Norma Jean, were famous for their jitterbug, two-step, swing, and square dancing. She met Everett at a dance in Bates County Missouri in the early fifties and married two years later on February 27, 1955. They were very proud of their 71 years together.

Pat and Everett raised their family on a dairy farm near Walker, Missouri. After retiring in 1978 and moving to the “big house” near Schell City, they spent their time traveling and enjoying life.

Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Schell City, Missouri at a date to be named later this year.
