Paul Richard Cookenour age 79 of Knoxville, Passed away September 6, 2026. He was a member of First Apostolic Church and worked in the broadcast room. He retired from Y-12 and was a member of IAM Local 480. He took pride in being a Cold War Patriot. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Hazel Cookenour; brother, Ralph Cookenour.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sallie Cookenour; daughters, Rebecca (Robert)Tarver and Victoria (Albert) Wright
Grandchildren, Robert Tarver Jr. And wife Kim, Reece (Sierra) Tarver, and Cody Tarver;
Great-grandchildren, Eleanore Tarver, Hazel Tarver, Memphis Tarver, Layla Tarver, Riley Tarver and Beckett Tarver; Nieces, Rhonda Cookenour and Rachel Sexton; great-great nephew, Mason Sexton.
The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Thursday at Weaver Funeral Home and Bishop Billy McCool will speak after the visitation. Family and friends will meet at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Kingsport, TN at 9:45 am for a 10 am graveside service with Rev. Williams officiating.
