Paul L. Hatley passed away on September 20, 2021, at age 60. He leaves behind his beautiful wife of 16 years, Theresa, with whom he shared his beloved daughters, Leah Michelle and Leslie Rose. He also leaves behind, his loving daughter Abigail Mia and a sweet grandson, who he was really just getting to know.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Leonard Hatley. He will be dearly missed by his sister, Mary, and his brother, James, and so many dear cousins, family, close long-time friends and people he still had yet to befriend.
Paul worked in construction for over 40 years, the last 15 years as a construction inspector for the City of Los Angeles, where he was born and lived until retiring and moving to Tennessee with his family in 2016. After retiring, he found purpose in working with a local church which has a Prison softball ministry, a Knoxville Area Rescue Mission, and preaching the Gospel wherever he went. In Paul’s writings, he said that it was his “desire that one day I will be able to say confidently, according to 2 Timothy 2:4 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”, “so that I might be able to hear according to Matthew 25:21 “Well done good and faithful servant….Enter into the joy of the Lord.”
His family would especially like to thank and express their gratefulness to the Christian Academy of Knoxville community for their kind and loving support.
