Peggy Ann Edington, age 72, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.She was a native of South Knoxville and graduated from South High School in 1969. Peggy married her one and only true love David in 1972. She worked in Mother’s Day Out in Meridian Baptist Church, as well as other local child care facilities. She enjoyed caring for children. She enjoyed traveling to beaches, and climbing lighthouses. She considered Myrtle Beach her second home. She also enjoyed watching David play football and softball. She loved going out on the boat and camping. She was a member of Meridian Baptist Church, and was deeply devoted to her family and friends. Peggy lived a very humble, quiet life and always cared for others. She always had a smile and brought joy to those around her, and had the ability to light up the room with her presence. She loved pets, especially dogs. She also very much adored and loved her daughter-in-law, Kelly. Her son Brandon was always important to her. Above all, she was a deeply devoted mother and she adored her family. She enjoyed the company of her close friends, Nancy, Rena, Barbara, Rhonda, Robin and Ms. Cynthia. A special thanks to all neighbors, including Tonnie Leann and the kids.
Peggy was preceded in passing by her parents, Ernest and Betty Newman; sister, Glenda Jane Newman.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband David Allen Edington; son, Brandon, and his wife Kelly Edington.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Meridian Baptist Church, 6503 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, with a visitation from 12:00pm to 2:00pm and a funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. Family and friends will go in procession to Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920 for a committal service to follow the funeral service, Rev. Dana Fachman to officiate the services.
