Peggy Jean McCoury

Peggy Jean McCoury, age 81 of Knoxville, TN passed away Thursday, June 27th, 2024. Peggy was a 1960 graduate of Carter High School. She was of the methodist faith. She retired from Walgreens after many years of service. She cherished her family, friends, and her four-legged companions. She is preceded in death by parents; Charles and Anna Slover; brothers; Bill, John, and Luke Slover; sisters; Evelyn Palmer, Juanita Pember, Helen Slover, and Betty Drummer. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years; James McCoury; brother James Slover; son Michael Slover (Crista); daughter; Kathy Hensley (John); grandchildren; Laura Hensley, John Hensley V(Abigail), and Zac Slover and several beloved nieces and nephews.

A receiving of friends and family for Peggy will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McCarty - Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Highway, Knoxville, TN 37924. A graveside service will occur Monday, July 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Eastview Memorial Gardens, 1320 Andrew Johnson Hwy, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871.
