Philomena R. Nardone, 97, died June 4, 2026. Born in Brooklyn on October 20, 1928, she was the daughter of Albert and Edna Cornella. Philomena later made her home on Long Island, New York, where she built a life rooted in devotion to family and a steady, gracious spirit. In 1986, she relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee with her husband, Gerard, and together they came to love the beauty of the East Tennessee mountains.
Philomena married Gerard A. Nardone on September 23, 1950. She was a loving mother to two children, Edna and Peter, and her family remained at the center of her life through every season.
With a gift for caring for others and a strong work ethic, Philomena trained as a hairdresser until her marriage. She later worked for 20 years as a travel agent on Long Island, helping others discover new places and create lasting memories. That same appreciation for the wider world was reflected in the life she shared with Gerard; together they took over 30 cruises, most often to the Caribbean and Mexico.
Philomena found joy in the simple and the beautiful—crafting, cooking, traveling, and the pleasure of live music shows. These interests reflected a life lived with warmth, attentiveness, and an enduring appreciation of a life well lived.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Edna Feulner of Knoxville, Tn, and Dr. Peter Nardone (Jane) of Montpelier, VA; grandchildren, Kelly Broderick (Don) of Denver and Keith Feulner of Seymour, TN; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
The family extends much appreciation to The Pinnacle Assisted Living in Hardin Valley and Caris Home Care and Hospice for their loving care of both Philomena and her family.
Receiving of Friends and Family will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 12:00 pm at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, Tennessee 37932. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm.
