

Ralph Lowell Bridges, age 91, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on July 9, 2025. Born on April 15, 1934, in Union County, Tennessee, Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Army for 23 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. His dedication and leadership left a lasting impact on those he served with. After retiring from the military, Ralph continued to serve in civilian life. He worked in the maintenance department at Parkwest Hospital for many years, provided lawn care and maintenance services throughout the community, and worked with Horne Properties. He was also a certified electrician and refrigeration mechanic, known for his reliability and strong work ethic. Ralph loved the outdoors and had a talent for hands-on creativity. His hobbies included woodworking, painting, crafts, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ursula Vogt Bridges; his parents; eight brothers; and three sisters. Ralph is survived by his son, Thomas Bridges; daughter, Monika Minge; grandchildren, Brooke and Hannah Minge, and Christine and Joshua Bridges; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Toby. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ralph’s life on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, with receiving of friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m at Weaver Funeral Home. Officiating, Pastor Dennis King. A graveside burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Ralph will be remembered for his strength, steady work ethic, and the love he gave to his family. His legacy of service, both in uniform and in life, will live on in all who knew him.
