SMITH, RAYMOND GUY – age 96 of Knoxville went home to be with his Lord and Savior, September 15, 2015. Retired from Cherokee Knitting Mill after 40+ years of service. He was a veteran of World War II and was also a very talented musician. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edith Whaley Smith; daughter, JoAnn Smith Massey; granddaughter, Teresa M. Massey Aldridge; sister, Anna Laura Smith Beever; brother, Clayton Smith. Survived by his son-in-law, Billy R. Massey; grandchildren, Jeff Massey and wife Sherry, Angie Reed and husband Phillip; great-grandchildren, Shay, Tanner and Tucker Massey; Christopher and Corey Reed; Anna Jo and Blake Aldridge; great-great-grandchild, Charis Reed and several nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at Weaver Funeral Home from 1-2 pm. Family and friends will then proceed to New Gray Cemetery for a 2:30 pm interment. Pastor W.C. Thornton officiating.
