Richard Lynn Atchley

Richard Lynn Atchley, age 89, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed on August 28th, 2026, surrounded by family. He served in the US Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam. Lynn never met a stranger and was a friend to all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Nina Atchley; and his daughter, Jennifer Hicks.

He is survived by his loving wife Judy Atchley; son, Randal Atchley (Barbara); granddaughters, Julie Feole (Ben) and Kelly Parrado (Leandro); grandsons; David Atchley (Lydia), Jonathon Hicks (Jackie), and Jeffrey Atchley (Alex); siblings, Barbara Brock, Hilda Rust, and Judy Young; great-grandchildren; Levi Feole, Josiah Feole, Aaron Feole, Blair Atchley, Cian Atchley, Chloe Hicks, and Teddy Hicks.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920, from 3:30-5:00 PM on Monday, September 7th, with a Memorial service to follow with Rev. Charlie McNutt officiating.

The family will be having a private inurnment service.
