Richard Darrow "RD" George, age 68, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018. He was a civil engineer whose career spanned around the world. RD was an avid music fan and jazz musician. He enjoyed gardening and home renovations. RD is survived by his daughter Asante George; son Sean Blu George; son Ivory Taylor George; granddaughter Marhly Carroll; brothers James Michael "Blu Mankuma" George; Stanley George and wife Debbie; Keith George; Ellison Horne, Richard Avalo; sisters Angela Gonzalez, Vivian "Vann" White and husband Corinthas, Carla Evans and husband Bruce; Ramona "Monie" Holt and husband Arthur; several nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents James (Emius) and Clara Darrow George; brother Clyde George; sisters Carmen (Kari) Avalo, Anola George, and Barbara Jean Martin. RD was dearly loved and will be missed by his family and all who knew him. A celebration of RD's life will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway Knoxville, Tennessee.
