

Haga, Richard “Rick”, age 41, of South Knoxville, passed away January 2, 2013. Rick was born at Shaw Air Force base in South Carolina, and grew up in Knoxville, and graduated from Powell High School in 1989. He was an iron worker for Huling Construction Company for several years. Rick enjoyed being in the outdoors, hiking and camping in the mountains and going to the beach. He was known as the sandman at the Cove at Concord where he would sculpt dolphins, mermaids and turtles out of the sand. He loved watching old Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin movies with his girls and flying remote control planes with his brother. Preceded in death by grandmomma, Bobbie Tharp; granny, Minnie Tharp and papaw, Cota Tharp. Survived by daughters: Cassie Haga Dailey and husband Andrew, Madison Haga; mother, Debbie Tharp; father, Harold Haga and wife, Debbie; mamaw, Lois Webber; brother, Aaron Stallard and Theresa Stallard; stepbrother, Justin Farrington; stepsisters, Michele Ballard and Missy Godfrey; granddaddy, Buddy Tharp; girlfriend, Anita Davenport Hall; nephews, Taylor and Devan Stallard; niece, Audrey Demboski; uncles, Dean Tharp and wife Rhonda Tharp, Ken Haga and Mike Haga; special cousin, Tom Madden; step-sons, Josh and Justin Farmer; beloved cat, Sammy D. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 4 to 6 PM at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy. Graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, January 7, 2013 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Rev.
