Rickey Alan McCallum, Sr., age 79, of Greeneville, South Carolina, and Knoxville, Tennessee, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by his loving family holding his hand, he left this world with grace and strength.
Affectionately known as “Speedy Maw Cow,” Rick earned his nickname on the football field before graduating from Farragut High School in 1965. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather (“Paw”), and friend—loved deeply by everyone who knew him.
In 1968, Rickey was drafted into the U.S. Army. After completing basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, he served honorably in the Vietnam War until his discharge in 1972. Upon returning home to Knoxville, he built a successful career in the wholesale whiskey and wine business with D&V Distributing. In the early 2000s, Rickey and his beloved wife, Jane Campbell McCallum (who preceded him in death in 2021), moved to Sevierville, Tennessee. There, he rekindled his lifelong passion for fast cars, working as a salesman at Volunteer Chevrolet. Even after retirement, Rickey’s greatest devotion was to Jane—caring for her with unwavering love during her seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s until her passing in September 2021.
Rickey was preceded in death by his Wife, Jane Campbell McCallum; Mother, Mary Helen Huff McCallum; Father, William Francis McCallum.
Rickey is survived by his loving children and grandchildren; Daughter, Heather M. Davis (Chad Robinson); grandchildren, Cory A. Brewer (Sarina Brewer), Charles M. Mason III (“Trey”); Son, Rickey A. McCallum, Jr. (Erin P. McCallum); grandchildren Carter B. McCallum and Will B. McCallum.

Ellis (Kimberly M. Ellis); children, Jessica R. King (Justin M. King), Charles C. Ellis Jr; niece, Sarah E. Masterson (Chris Masterson); children Sidney E. Ellis, Anabel
