

KELLY BLACK age 84 of Powell, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at his home. He was a Master Mason with Powell Masonic Lodge where he was also a Worshipful Master. He received his 50 year certificate in 2005. Kelly was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a retired Supervisor and past Postmaster with the Postal Service. He was a lover of Bluegrass music. Preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Irene Black and sister, Katheryn Martin. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jeannine; children, Lynette and husband, Steve Brown, John Black and wife Cherie Meece and Mitzi Black; granddaughter, Whitney Mae Brown; brothers, Gene, Jim (Nita), Bill (Barbara) and Tom Black; sisters, Liz (Joe) Wendelken and Sue (J.B.) Watson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thanks to the Helping Hands Caregivers. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Friday at Weaver’s Chapel with the service to follow at 7 pm with Reverends Thomas and Don Sweet officiating. The Powell Lodge will conduct a Masonic service. Family and friends will meet at Weaver, 10:30 am Saturday and proceed to Lynch Bethel Cemetery for an 11 am interment. Condolences may be left at www.weaverfuneralservices.com.
