Robert Steven “Steve” Johnson, son of Robert Paul and Mary Adina Johnson, married to Michelle Ann “Mickie” Gambino Johnson, born 6/27/1969 died August 12, 2016 at home from stage four esophageal cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Mickie and their eight purr babies Erika, Bella, Ronin, Angel, Hope, Rikka, Pepper and Pippin; his mother Adina, his two sisters Teresa Campagna and her husband, Joe, and Dee Warden, and his nephew Thomas, and nieces Brittany Laurel, Maleigha and Elise. In life, Steve acquired a degree in political science from the University of Tennessee and a computer science degree from Pellissippi State. He desired to enter seminary to begin a prison ministry and to work with other PTSD sufferers. His passions included reading, karate, and politics, riding his Harley Freewheeler, his tattoos, and the biker brotherhood he longed to be a part of. His great love of political debate and karate was surpassed only by his love for the LORD, his wife and his cats, his biker brothers, and his family. He achieved Rukudan rank 6th degree black belt in Isshinryu, second degree black belt in Arnis, and Master Instructor in Wheeler pressure point fighting. As a political blogger, a titan under the handle Iron Fist, he shaped the political discussion on several blogs earning both profound love and respect, and scorn by others much to his amusement. Gone too soon, he placed his trust in GOD’s plan even though he did not know what it was. A warrior in life, he is now in GODs heavenly Marine Corps. A Celebration of Steve's life will begin at 12 Noon on Saturday, at Weaver Funeral Home. Chapel service, receiving of friends, and interment to follow. Master Johnson was a true friend and a great martial artist. Very few people ever obtain the rank and knowledge that Master Johnson had. He will be greatly missed by the Karate Community and all that knew him.

We Know Aunt Bridget & Uncle Greg Johnson who both have a huge heart. Thus...with them in mind and having read the entries from so many friends, we know Steve was a wonderful person and leaves a wonderful family to mourn. We are saddened that we never met him but happy that he is at peace and free of suffering. We pray that God will help Steve's family and friends cope with Steve's untimely passing. We shall keep everyone in our hearts and in our prayers. With love, Mickey & Bill

To a man who moved my soul, but I had never met on this mortal coil: your life inspired me, your words enriched me, and your presence comforted me. I look forward to seeing you.

Beyond many who assume they know a person at first glance. I placed a fuzzy kitten into the arms of this man and his heart melted. His ferocity was only shown to opponents who were armed with the same metal. He was a gentle, kind soul to innocent creatures and to people who needed his strength and depended upon his love. I am honored to have become one of Steve (Rob on FB) friends. I came to realize the depth of his belief in his Savior Christ, because he gave witness and opened his heart to tell people the truth about his life, and how his life changed. Mic and Steve are my friends. I am a political blogger too, and we often saw eye to eye on many issues. And I won't forget hearing his voice or knowing that I am one of the people he helped.
We are given a body in this life, frail as it may be or become... but we truthfully are a soul. Rest now Brother... My sincere condolences to Mic and to his lovable kitty cats and closest friends.
