He lived many years in Mendon and Bellingham before moving to Tennessee in 1996. The son of the late Charles E. and Laura A. (Russell) Kingdon, Bob was born in Worcester, MA and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School, in 1953.
Bob was a teenage survivor of polio and went on to working on the Massachusetts Turnpike before becoming a successful business owner of a Mobile Service station in Bellingham, MA . In addition, he worked at the Bellingham Post Office, owned a commercial cleaning business, Diamond Cleaning, had an Amway business, and drove for ETHRA, all before retiring in Tennessee. Through his years, he belonged to a snowmobile club, was a communicant and volunteer at Saint Blaise Church as well as a member of the Brothers of the Brush. Bob was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Seymour, TN. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and many trips to the island of Aruba with his late wife Ann.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife, and mother of his children, Ann Marie (Covaleski) Kingdon, and daughter Susan Marie Leon. After Ann's passing, he married Mary E. (Cote) Kingdon.
He leaves behind six children, Kathleen DosSantos of Whitinsville, MA, Kevin Kingdon and Laurie Taylor (Mark), both of Knoxville, TN, James Kingdon (Liz) of Milford, MA, Ann Marie Lanagan (David) of Mendon, MA and Robert Kingdon (Sandy) of Atlanta, GA; twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 6, 2022 between the hours of 1:00pm until 3:00pm in the parlors of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920.
The family will also receive friends Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 9:00am until 11:00 at Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA with a burial to follow at Swan Dale Cemetery, 20 Main Street Mendon, MA. 01756
