Robert A. Lewis, M.D. age 87 Passed Away Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 He was a graduate of Knoxville Central High school; The University of Tennessee Medical School, Memphis. He has his medical internship at the University of Oklahoma (1951-1952). He was a flight surgeon with the United States Air Force, based in Japan (1953-1956). He returned to the U.S. to become Chief Resident of Dermatology at the University of Alabama, Birmingham (1957-1958). After his residency, he came back to Knoxville and began his 58 year practice, most recently at Fort Sanders Hospital. Married in 1953 to Carole Peters. He was a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church and served as deacon under Rev. Sam Cappel and Dr. Robert Ferguson. He is survived by his wife Carole; son, Alex and daughter, Sally. In lieu of flowers, give to your favorite charity. There will be a private family graveside service.
